Hello everyone, It's WIP Wednesday! And that means, that today I get to show you more on the Gauntlet socks!
So, while working on these at Knit Night last night, I got to where I want the heel turn. And yes, the only way to really show you folks the heel turn is to hold it in place right now for a photo. That's because of the way the fabric is biasing. It's rather annoying, since it makes taking good photos hard.
Getting the heel right's going to take a bit of figuring, since I want the heel turn to incorporate some of the patterning, plus, I don't want to mess too much with the striping if possible. The *"Orion" colourway from *Washtenaw Wool Company is a gradient yarn, but I think these would also work in a striping yarn, too, so I don't want to mess around too much.
I'm going to put a lifeline in here, and I'll see how it goes. I'm abandoning my previous idea of short rows to even out the heel, for now; and I'm thinking instead I'll change my increase position to level out the bias in the knitting. Now it's just to see if it will work?
I'm also absolutely in love with the *jumping dolphin stitch marker you see there under my hand. It's another wonderful find from *Efficient Sense's Etsy Store. It's a bit heavier then some of the other markers I've used, but I kind of like that it has a bit of weight to it. I particularly like it for beginning/end of round marking, but I think that's just my brain being it's usual weird self!
